Senior project logistics experience added to the UK market at TGP

Trans Global Projects (TGP) strengthens its commercial capability in the United Kingdom with the addition of Richard Jones, who takes on responsibility for business development across the UK market.

Richard brings more than three decades of experience in project logistics, freight forwarding and supply chain management, with a career focused on complex, technically demanding and schedule‑critical projects delivered internationally. His background combines senior commercial leadership with hands‑on project and chartering experience, supporting a delivery‑focused and realistic approach to logistics planning.

He holds an MBA in Shipping and Logistics from Copenhagen Business School and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Shipbrokers.

The role is intended to broaden  the quality of engagement available to clients operating in the UK. For customers, this means earlier access to senior project logistics expertise during planning and tendering, clearer alignment between commercial commitments and operational realities, and solutions built around credible execution and risk management. At an industry level, it supports closer collaboration between logistics providers, contractors and engineering teams involved in complex project supply chains.

Richard Jones, Global Sales Manager, Trans Global Projects, says: “My focus is on supporting clients at an earlier stage of project development, where logistics decisions have the greatest impact on cost, risk and schedule certainty. Clients are looking for partners who understand how projects are actually delivered, not just how they look on paper. My role is to help translate project intent into logistics solutions that are workable, transparent and dependable.”

Michael Andrews, Managing Director – UK, Trans Global Projects, comments: “The appointment strengthens the level of senior engagement available to customers across the UK market. Richard brings experience that clients benefit from directly. His ability to engage early, challenge assumptions and shape deliverable solutions supports a more consistent transition from concept through to execution.”

Colin Charnock, Group CEO, Trans Global Projects, adds: “Early alignment across disciplines remains critical for successful project delivery. When commercial, technical and operational thinking come together at the right time, projects run better. This role supports a more informed and collaborative approach between clients, contractors and logistics partners.”

Richard is based in the United Kingdom and Australia and works closely with Trans Global Projects’ international offices and partners to support existing clients and develop new project opportunities.
