TGP designed a frame to enable loading an oversized crane slewing ring in a Boeing 777F.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rotterdam, Netherlands<\/strong>, Tuesday 7th<\/strong> <\/strong>January 2025: <\/strong>Trans Global Projects (TGP) recently completed the successful airfreight delivery of an oversized crane slewing ring from Germany to China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The oversized slewing ring, which measured 4.3 meters in diameter and weighing 6 metric tons, was transported on a Boeing 777F using a custom designed frame for the cargo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The frame, tailored by TGP, tilted the slewing rig to a loading width of 360 cms, enabling it to fit through the 372 cm-wide aircraft door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cargo was transported to the airport using a hydraulic tilt trailer system to avoid the need for time-consuming specialised road permits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe all recognise the extraordinary effort and ingenuity required to achieve what initially seemed impossible,\u201d said Gijs Vlasman, Head of Commercial \u2013 BENELUX, Trans Global Projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis slewing ring is one of \u2013 if not \u2013 the largest, most complex, and heaviest piece ever transported using a B-777F.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur success is a testament to the creative thinking and capabilities of our team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delivery was made ahead of time after beginning its journey at Frankfurt Hahn Airport, Germany, on 22nd<\/sup> September, and arriving at Zhengzhou Airport, China, the following day, pre-empting the start of Golden Week celebrations and the ensuing travel disruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TGP\u2019s tailored airfreight solution was selected for providing significant time- and cost-savings compared to alternatives, such as the slower ocean freight or the complex, costly, and limited availability of an Antonov 124.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
